Sex offender wanted for failure to register in Richland County

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the community’s help in locating a sex offender.

Jessie J. Smith, 61, is wanted on charges of failure to register as a sex offender, Sheriff Leon Lott said in a statement released Thursday.

Smith, who is homeless, is six foot tall and weighs 147 pounds.

Anyone with information as to Smith’s whereabouts is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIMESC.
