Man shot in St. Andrews area Wednesday evening. Suspect sought

The Richland County Sheriff Department is investigating a shooting Wednesday evening on the 1400 block of Farrington Way in St. Andrews.

A man who was shot in the upper body, was taken to a local hospital, Richland County Sheriff Department spokesman Curtis Wilson said. The victim’s condition was unknown at this writing.

Preliminary information indicates that the victim may have been meeting someone to sell a pair of sneakers, Wilson said. When the victim arrived on scene, the gunman shot him, got in a vehicle and fled, Wilson said.
