A Lexington County man created a disturbance when authorities at his child’s elementary school balked at letting him take his child home early,” Lexington County sheriff Jay Koon said in a news release Tuesday night.

Timothy William Browning,30, was charged with “disturbing school,” following the Tuesday afternoon incident at the Saxe Gotha Elementary School.

Browning “became disruptive in the school office and near his child’s classroom,” Koon said.

He was arrested after he arrived at the Lexington School District One headquarters where he wanted to question officials about the early dismissal process.

He was being held at the Lexington Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing, Koon said.

No other details about the incident were released.
