Suspect sought in Gregg Street sexual assault and carjacking
Columbia police are investigating an alleged sexual assault and carjacking that occurred around 1:30am Monday, March 30 on Gregg Street near Rosewood Drive, Chief Skip Holbrook said in a news release.
The victim told investigators that she and the assailant had arranged to meet around 1:30am on the 200 block of Gregg Street. When he arrived, he grabbed her car keys, drove her around against her will and, at the point of a gun, sexually assaulted her in a ‘secluded area.’ She was left there when the man drove away in the victim’s car.
The attacker is described as an African-American male between 20-30 years-old, standing approximately 6- -feet and 4-inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds.
