Lexington County authorities investigating suspicious death

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and the coroner’s office are investigating what has been called a suspicious death in the Red Bank community of Lexington County.

Maj. John Allard, a department spokesman, said a woman was found dead in the home she rents along YMCA Road near Lexington Saturday afternoon.

Although Allard said it appeared the woman had been dead inside the home for a considerable period of time, there would be no more information released regarding the death as the investigation is still in its early stages.
