SC Public Safety Officer charged in connection with 2014 shooting

A North Augusta Public Safety Officer has been charged in connection with a 2014 shooting into an occupied vehicle.

Justin Gregory Craven, 25, has been charged with discharging a firearm into a vehicle while occupied in connection with the February 9, 2014, death of Ernest Satterwhite, Thom Berry, a State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) spokesman said.

The shooting was recorded on video, and Craven admitted firing the pistol into the vehicle, according to an arrest warrant.

Craven was booked into the Edgefield County Detention Center, Berry said.
