Lexington deputies arrest 5 in connection with fatal Swansea shooting

Lexington County deputies have arrested five people in connection with the fatal shooting of a man at his home near Swansea.

Frderick Lavern Jones Jr., 16, was arrested as an adult on charges of murder, armed robbery, possessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and criminal conspiracy, Sheriff Lewis McCarty said.

Deputies also arrested Alexis Maria Olds, 17, Gauge Christian Miller, 18, Gerkedric Shakur Walker, 18, and Jordan Russell Wall, 18, on charges of murder, armed robbery, posessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and criminal conspiracy, McCarty said.

The suspects were arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Larry Bryan Williams, 41, McCarty said. Williams was shot and killed at his home on Sam Austin Road early Wednesday morning.

Williams knew Jones, Miller, Olds, Walker and Wall, McCarty said. The circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation.

Jones, Miller, Olds, Walker and Wall are accused of killing Williams in an attempt to rob him, according to arrest warrants. After arriving at Williams’ home, Wall opened the front door and fatally shot him in the upper torso.

Wall conspired with Jones, Miller, Olds and Walker to go to Williams’ home wile armed in order to try to rob him, according to arrest warrants.
