Norway man charged with burglary after stealing shotgun, radio from police department

South Carolina Law Enforcement Division agents charged a Norway man Wednesday after he allegedly broke into the town hall and police department and stole police equipment.

According to a SLED arrest warrant, 22-year-old Jamairre Daron Singleton has been charged with second-degree burglary after he allegedly stole a shotgun and police radio from the police department on March 24, 2014.

The warrant said Singleton broke into the building at 2 a.m. and stole numerous other items from the building. The Norway Police Department requested SLED’s assistance in the investigation.

Singleton was transported to the Orangeburg – Calhoun Regional Detention Center but posted bail Thursday. If convicted of second-degree burglary, Singleton faces up to 10 years in prison.
