Lexington Coroner IDs victim of fatal Gilbert traffic accident

The Lexington County Coroner has identified the person killed in a traffic accident late Sunday night in Gilbert.

Dylan Scott Chavis, 22, of Lexington, died at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident, according to Coroner Margaret Fisher.

The accident happened about 11:50 p.m. Sunday at mile marker 46 on I-20 westbound in Gilbert, Fisher said.

A passenger in the vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Fisher said.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death, Fisher said. The accident remains under investigation.
