Provided by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is asking the community’s help in identifying a man accused of taking personal items from the room of a hotel near Irmo, officials say.

The man unlawfully entered a room at the Red Roof Inn at 10 Berryhill Road around 12:50 a.m. on March 16 and took a desktop computer, tablet and debit card, Lexington County Sheriff Lewis McCarty said in a statement released Monday.

Detectives have not been given a detailed description of the man but have three surveillance photos of the suspect that were recorded when he used or tried to use the stolen debit card to buy items at businesses in Columbia, McCarty said.

Anyone with information about this incident or the man’s identity is asked to call the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department at (803) 785-8230 or CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
