Richland Coroner IDs victim of fatal Columbia stabbing

The Richland County Coroner has identified the person who died died following a stabbing Monday night.

Renea N. Lindsay, 52, died from complications due to a stab wound, Coroner Gary Watts said.

The incident happened in the 1100 block of King Street just after 7 p.m. Monday night, according to Columbia police.

Leroy Samuel, 68, has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, according to Columbia police.

Police officials said the stabbing was an isolated incident and stemmed from an argument Samuel was having with the victim who was an acquaintance.
