2 people injured in Richland County shooting

Two people were shot just after noon Saturday on Two Notch Road.

The shooting happened just after noon at Two Notch Road near where Decker Boulevard and Parklane Road come together, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

According to the sheriff’s department, a suspect or suspects fired multiple shots from a vehicle, striking two male victims who were in another vehicle. The victims’ vehicle crashed into a tree nearby. They were being treated at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital with upper-body injuries that are not life-threatening, police say.

The shooting did not happen in the Kiki’s Chicken & Waffles restaurant parking lot, as was initially reported by the sheriff’s department. Sheriff’s spokesman Curtis Wilson corrected the information, saying the shooting happened in the roadway.
