They lured victims to a home near Columbia, attacked and robbed them, police say

Five people have been charged in connection with the armed robberies of two people who were lured to a northeast Richland County home.

Two victims were attacked and robbed in separate incidents earlier this month, according to a news release Tuesday from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff’s investigators say Imani Anderson, 19, lured the victims to a home on the 1200 block of Waverly Place Drive, which is just off Summit Parkway near Hardscrabble Road.

The victims were lured through a chat app called Tagged, said Sgt. Brittany Jackamonis. Tagged bills itself as a “place to link up with new people, chill and play games.” Tagged says it has 300 million users.

Each victim was held at gunpoint, pistol whipped and robbed by Dante Johnson, 24, Jacobi Scott, 19, Gene Quattlebaum, 17, and Dremelle Gamble, 25, Jackamonis said. All five suspects have been charged with armed robbery and kidnapping.

Investigators are trying to determine whether there were other victims, Jackamonis said. Additional charges are possible.
