13-year-old arrested for bringing BB gun to school, showing it as if it were real
A 13-year-old student has been arrested for bringing a BB gun to school.
The teenager is facing charges of possession of a weapon on school property. His name was withheld because of his age. After being charged, he was released to his parents’ custody, according to a news release by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
The boy is accused of showing the BB gun to other students at Longleaf Middle School on Thursday as if it were real, the release stated. The teen also threatened to shoot some students.
No one was injured, according to the release.
