WWII explosive training device found at construction site in Richland County
Richland County sheriff’s deputies have disposed of an explosive device found at a construction site on Saturday morning.
Construction workers in the 200 block of Barony Place Drive reported finding an explosive device, the sheriff’s department tweeted just after 9 a.m.
The sheriff’s bomb unit removed the device and disposed of it, department spokesman Lt. Curtis Wilson said.
Deputies determined it was an inert World War II training round, the sheriff’s department later tweeted.
There is no threat to the public, Wilson said.
