SC teacher accused of sexual relationship with teen student

A South Carolina teacher was arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old high school student.

Jennifer Olajire-Aro, 27, of Johns Island, is charged with sexual battery with a student, according to the Charleston Police Department.

Olajire-Aro is a teacher and tennis coach at Burke High School, which is where the student is enrolled, police said.

The student notified school officials of the inappropriate relationship, which lasted several months, according to police. The incidents occurred off campus.

Olajire-Aro is being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center. She is scheduled to have a bond hearing Tuesday.

The Charleston Police Department said the investigation is ongoing.
