Sumter police have arrested a second person in connection with an intentional house fire that broke out early Sunday morning and left one man in a regional burn center, according to the Sumter Police Department.

Shan Lando Hill, 34 was arrested Thursday at an Olive Street address after authorities received a tip, according to department spokeswoman Tonyia McGirt. Hill is charged with second-degree accessory before the fact of arson and conspiracy.

Authorities continue to search for Gregory Wilson Sharper, 30, who is wanted for second-degree arson, conspiracy and attempted murder for his role in the fire, which happened around 4 a.m. Sunday on Hoyt Street, McGirt said.

Shaper and Hill are brothers, McGirt said.

David Shamar Sims, 26, was also arrested and charged with second-degree arson and conspiracy after he allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail at a home in the 100 block of Hoyt Street. Although police officials said the 30-year-old victim was not the target in the fire, he received burns from the attack and was transported to a regional burn center for treatment.

Officials said there were five other people in the home at the time of the attack but no other injuries were reported.

The attack is believed to be an isolated incident, but it is connected to possible illegal drug activity, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
