SLED charges Spartanburg County officer with misconduct in office
State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) agents have charged a former Spartanburg County police officer in connection with misconduct in office.
Johnathan Prentiss Gash, 33, a former Wellford Police Department officer has been charged with misconduct in office in connection with improper actions involving evidence and driving under suspension, according to SLED spokesman Thom Berry.
Gash is accused of driving under suspension and possessing evidence belonging to Wellford Police Department the trunk of his personal vehicle, according to an arrest warrant.
Gash is also accused of possessing non-submitted evidence in the trunk of his assigned patrol vehicle, according to a warrant.
Gash was booked at the Spartanburg County Detention Center, Berry said.
