First Citizens Bank clerk threatened, bank robbed
A man who allegedly threatened to shoot one of the clerks, robbed the First Citizens Bank at 2600 Rosewood Drive of an undisclosed amount of money Friday morning.
Columbia Police released bank surveillance photos of the suspect and asked for the public’s help identifying him.
Witnesses described the man as a 6-foot 4-inch tall heavy-set black male who was last seen wearing a black and white stripped baseball cap, white t-shirt, black ‘hoodie’ and black pants.
Columbia police chief Skip Holbrook said the robber is not believed to have shown a weapon, but he did threaten to shoot one of the bank clerks during the morning robbery.
He fled the scene in a four-door car, possibly a Nissan Maxima.
