She killed her 2 children, then jumped off a bridge, police say
A North Carolina mother killed her two young children before jumping to her own death from an interstate bridge, according to police.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers responded to a suicide call on the Old Gum Branch Road bridge at Interstate 485 Saturday evening, where a woman was found dead, according to a press release.
Information gathered at the scene led officers to a home where they found two children with life-threatening injuries, police said. The children were transported to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Investigators have determined the woman, 34-year-old Christina Elizabeth Treadway, “assaulted her children” before jumping off the bridge, the release states. There was no one else in the home when police arrived.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have identified the children as 7-year-old Isaiah Miller and 3-year-old Iliyah Miller.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
