Two people have been charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting that occurred between two vehicles last weekend.

Keon Tucker, 21, was charged with six counts of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to the Columbia Police Department.

Monique Young, 19, was charged with misprison of a felony (failure to report a crime) and false swearing before persons authorized to administer oaths, police said.

Tucker is accused of firing several rounds at a vehicle with five occupants in the 1700 block of Sunset Drive on Jan. 8, according to police, adding one of the people in the other vehicle returned fire.

One of the bullets Tucker fired hit the front windshield of a transit bus which was behind the targeted vehicle, police said.

No injuries were reported from the incident.

Young is accused of lying to police about her knowledge of the incident and provided a sworn statement attesting to the same.

Tucker and Young were taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
