Midlands woman makes unnerving discovery on her property
A Midlands woman discovered something on her property that would cause many to suffer sleepless nights.
On Sunday, a Camden woman, living in the 1500 block of Broad Street, found that an unknown person had been occupying a pool house on her property, according to a Camden Police Department incident report.
The woman made the discovery after chasing a strange dog off her property, as it fled by running through a hole in a fence in her backyard. As she attempted to mend the hole, she heard an electronic noise coming from the area of the pool house, according to the incident report.
At that same moment, the woman saw a dark figure in what appeared to be a black sweatshirt and blue jeans run away to the neighboring property.
Upon closer inspection, the woman noticed that someone had been trespassing and vandalized the pool house, which hadn’t been used in a few years, according to the incident report.
Someone had brought numerous items, such as a television, a table and chairs into the pool house, which she had considered vacant.
She told police it appeared that someone had been spending time there, as graffiti was found on walls and cabinets. During a search of the pool house, police discovered a glass water bong with burnt marijuana in it, and another water bong that appeared to be homemade.
Police also found an empty vodka bottle, a small orange pill container and a jacket. The woman said she didn’t recognize of these items, according to the incident report.
On the back side of the pool house, there was a beaten path that entered into the neighboring back yard in the 1500 block of Highland Avenue, and the homeowner of that residence said she had not seen anyone in that area.
The Camden Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident and has an arrest warrant for a suspect who will be charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, vandalism of property and trespass of real property.
