Columbia man pointed a gun at his mother, then hid under a bed, police say

A 20-year-old was arrested and charged after threatening his mother with a gun Tuesday, according to the Columbia Police Department.

Moses Wilson was charged with pointing and presenting firearms at a person, police said.

The incident occurred at a residence on Lorick Circle, not far from Palmetto Health Richland, where police said they responded to a domestic dispute.

Wilson is accused of arguing with his mother inside a home and threatening to harm her with a gun, the police said.

The mother left the home to protect herself.

A K-9 unit found Wilson hiding under a bed after he allegedly ignored repeated verbal commands to surrender, according to the police.

Wilson was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
