Man exposes himself to girl, solicits boy for sex in second incident, sheriff says
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying a man who exposed himself to a young girl and solicited an underage boy for sex in a second incident.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department says it believes that the man approached two juveniles in two separate incidents.
The first incident occurred at 4 p.m. on Jan. 18 at a parking lot in the 2200 block of Decker Boulevard, not far from Richland Northeast High School, according to the sheriff’s department.
The juvenile female was approached by an older black male who asked her to come to his vehicle and help him with his phone, the sheriff’s department said. When the juvenile approached the car, the man exposed himself to her.
The man is described by the sheriff’s department as an older black male with a graying facial hair, and was driving a white four-door Subaru or station wagon type vehicle.
A similar incident occurred at 4:20 p.m. on Jan. 21 in the parking lot of Ridge View High School.
In that incident, a juvenile boy was solicited for a sex act by an unknown black male, who the sheriff’s department says was driving a white, four-door type (Chevy) SUV. The man was possibly wearing a long wig or weave.
