Man arrested in connection with 3 Columbia bank robberies
Columbia police have made an arrest in connection with a bank robbery on Rosewood Drive and two on Garners Ferry Road.
Kevin Oliver Reese, 61, has been charged with three counts of entering a bank with intent to steal, Chief Skip Holbrook said.
Reese was arrested at his residence on Deerwood Street, Holbrook said. He was identified after police received a tip about the crimes.
Reese is accused of stealing money from First Citizens Bank at 2600 Rosewood Drive on Friday, Wells Fargo at 6700 Garners Ferry Road on Saturday, and Wells Fargo at 4800 Garners Ferry Road on Tuesday, Holbrook said.
Reese appeared in bond court Thursday, and a judge set his surety bond at $250,000. He is currently being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
