Lexington County authorities investigating after 1 injured in early morning shooting

Lexington County detectives are investigating an early Monday morning shooting at a home near Swansea that left one man wounded, according to sheriff’s department officials.

Maj. John Allard, a department spokesman, said detectives responded to a home on Sharon Church Road near Swansea at 2:20 a.m. in reference to a shooting. According to investigators, the homeowners shot and wounded a man in the leg outside the homeowner’s residence.

Allard said the man who was wounded was transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for his wounds, but his current condition is unknown. The circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation and there is no further information available at this point in the investigation.
