----------  PREVIOUS REPORTING --------

The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in locating two teenagers who have been reported missing by their families since Thursday.

According to the teenagers’ family members, Jonathan Dale Dennis, 15 and Alysia Margaret Skipper, 16, have not been heard from since 1 a.m. Thursday morning. Although law enforcement has received several unconfirmed sightings of the teens, none of the information has been substantiated.

Sheriff Lee Foster said that law enforcement have done everything they can through technological means and old-fashioned police work to locate the teens.

“While we believe they left voluntarily but without parental consent, children of this age are vulnerable to many different variables out in the world,” Foster said in a statement. “We feel they are in danger. It is imperative that we get them home to their families.”

Foster said the teens’ family members told law enforcement that they might driving a white 2006 Hummer H3 with a South Carolina license plate. The plate’s number is “TN 281” and also has a “Tennessee” logo displayed on it.

Dennis is described as a white male standing 6 feet tall and weighs about 157 pounds. He has shaggy, brown hair and brown eyes. Skipper is described as a white female standing about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 145 pounds. She has brown, should-length hair and brown eyes.

Several sightings of the teens have come from Charleston, where they both have family members, but none of the information has been substantiated.

If anyone has information regarding their whereabouts, they are urged to call the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office at (803) 321-2222 or the Newberry Police Department at (803) 321-1010.
