Columbia police resolve incident after man refuses to leave home

Columbia police say a man who refused to come out of a home on Farmview Street finally agreed to leave.

The man was taken to a local hospital by EMS shortly before noon Friday, according to Jennifer Timmons, a department spokeswoman. No crime was committed, and there were no injuries reported.

Police responded to the home for a welfare check around 5 p.m. Thursday evening, Timmons said,

Crisis negotiators and SWAT responded to the scene.
