Sunday evening shooting left one wounded, Lexington County sheriff’s deputies searching for suspect
Lexington County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a Sunday evening shooting near West Columbia that left one man injured, according to department officials.
Maj. John Allard, a department spokesman, said the shooting occurred at 7:15 p.m. outside of the Dollar General store located on Charleston Highway. The victim was shot in the arm and was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Allard said the suspect fled in a motor vehicle following the incident. An investigation into the shooting is underway and there will be no more additional information released at this time.
