COLUMBIA, SC A tip to Crime Stoppers led authorities in Valdosta, Georgia, to the man suspected of robbing the First Citizens Bank at 2600 Rosewood Dr. last year, Columbia Police chief Skip Holbrook said.

Tyrell Victor Evans, 56, was arrested and is being held pending extradition to Columbia where he faces the charge of entering a bank with the intent to steal.

Evans was named as a person-of-interest just days after the September 19, 2014, robbery after a surveillance video image of the robber was released to the public. During the robbery, the man “acted like” he had a weapon, but did not present one, the police department said at the time.
