Richland County deputies arrested five people Wednesday after discovering over 300 marijuana plants, drugs, cash and weapons.
Multiple search warrants were issued Wednesday, which led to the arrests of Ryan Brady, 48, Brian Brangi, 55, Brandy Adams, 32, Adam Schimsa, 34, and Kenneth Owens, 30, according to Sheriff Leon Lott.
Brady has been charged with manufacturing marijuana, trafficking marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana; Brian Brangi has been charged with two counts of manufacturing drugs, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and trafficking; Brandy Adams has been charged with two counts of manufacturing marijuana; Adam Schimsa has been charged with three counts of manufacturing marijuana with intent to distribute; and Kenneth Owens has been charged with two counts of manufacturing marijuana with intent to distribute, trafficking marijuana and two counts of drugs/MDP, narcotics (LSD), Lott said.
Tips from the community about illegal drug activity prompted the investigation, which included the Richland County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Agents, Richland County Sheriff’s Department Investigators, the Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force and the Irmo Police Department, Lott said.

More than 300 marijuana plants, several pounds of marijuana, MDMA, THC laced edibles, a large amount of cash, and 11 weapons were confiscated in the searches of the residences, Lott said. Investigators also found an elaborate marijuana growing facility in four of the five homes.
Sheriff Leon Lott stated that charges include conspiracy to traffic over 100 marijuana plants, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, manufacturing marijuana, manufacturing marijuana within a half a mile of a school, possession with intent to distribute THC-wax, and possession with intent to distribute MDMA.
