One in hospital after ‘accidental shooting’ at Lexington car dealership, deputies say

One person was injured after being shot in the parking lot of Jim Hudson Ford, according to a statement from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies are investigating after an accidental shooting inside of a car in the dealership’s parking lot early Friday afternoon, according to the statement.

“Based on everything we’ve seen, heard and gathered at the scene, this appears to be an unfortunate accident,” spokesman Capt. Adam Myrick said.

One person was taken to an area hospital for medical treatment, according to the statement. Medical personnel reported to the sheriff’s department that the injured person was in stable condition.

Deputies will be working the crime scene at the front of the dealership into the afternoon. The service center and main office will remain open during the investigation.

Jim Hudson Ford is located on West Main Street in Lexington.
