Lexington County man sexually assaulted child, found guilty in 24 min., solicitor says

A Lexington County man is going to prison after he was found guilty of criminal sexual conduct with a child under the age of 16, according to a statement from the Eleventh Circuit Solicitor’s office.

Edward Davis, Sr., 60, was found guilty by a jury in 24 minutes at the conclusion of his three day trial, according to the statement.

Davis was arrested in July 2016 after he touched the child in his car inappropriately, according to the statement. After the incident, he fainted.

When he awoke, he told first responders the reason he passed out because of the sexual assault, according to the statement. Responders quickly reacted, and the child soon told law enforcement what happened with Davis.

Davis was sentenced to seven years in prison and will have to register as a sex offender once he’s released, according to the statement.
