A man died after a Friday night shooting in West Columbia. Now police investigate
A man is dead after a shooting in Lexington County.
Corey Jamison was 27-years-old, coroner Margaret Fisher said. The fatal incident happened Friday night in West Columbia.
Authorities arrived around 11 p.m to the 100 block of Riverbend Drive, The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department says. They found Jamison shot. He latered died from his injurires, the sheriff’s department says.
Jamison’s aunt announced her nephew’s death on social media.
“I lost my nephew tonight,” Stacy Jamison said in one post.
Condolences came from many people one saying, “man no not lil bruh ...”
Stacy Jamison thanked her friends and family for the condolences and said “(Corey) was like a brother! Corey Jamison you will always live!”
The sheriff’s department is investigating and say they believe the shooting was an isolated incident. No immediate threat to the public exists.
Riverbend Drive is off Sunset Boulevard in West Columbia. The road circles the Serenity Apartments at Three Rivers complex.
