A Pelion man was arrested after breaking into a local church, according to a statement from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.

Christopher Lee Williams, 33, was arrested after, deputies say, he broke into the Dolorosa Worship Center on Old Charleston Road in Pelion, according to the statement.

Williams broke into the church on Aug. 18, according to the statement. He used a tool to pry open the back door, and was caught on surveillance video.

After breaking through the door, Williams allegedly stole a bass guitar, according to the statement.
