Man dead after three-car crash in Columbia

A 24-year-old man is dead after being involved in a three car crash in Columbia, according to a police statement.

Ontarius Lavel Kelley, of Columbia, was driving near the 1500 block of Broad River Road at about 11:30 p.m. when he hit the rear of another vehicle, according to the statement.

Kelley was driving a Honda Civic in the eastbound lane, according to the statement. He was speeding and didn’t stop before hitting the Jeep Wrangler.

The Jeep hit the back of another car, according to the statement.

Kelley wasn’t wearing a seat belt, according to the statement. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. He likely died of head trauma.
