16-year-old charged in Snapchat threat against Lower Richland High School

Deputies have arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with a threat against Lower Richland High School that was posted to Snapchat.

The teen is a student at Lower Richland, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department said late Monday morning

The Snapchat post apparently targeted a specific student, but investigators determined that “the teen threatened in the post was actually the teen who made the post,” the sheriff’s department said.

The student is charged with making school threats and unlawful communication.
