Richland County deputies searching for suspect in Tuesday afternoon shooting

Richland County sheriff’s deputies are actively searching for a suspect who wounded one during a Tuesday afternoon shooting, according to sheriff’s department officials.

Sgt. Kevin Lawrence, a department spokesman, said deputies responded to the Richland Terrace Apartments located in the 1200 block of Metze Road near Broad River Road in reference to a shots-fired call at 12:30 p.m. When the deputies arrived they met with a victim who had been shot in the lower body by the suspect.

Lawrence said the suspects involved in the case are two black males with short dreadlocks. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
