Three charged with attempted murder for Richland County pellet gun attack

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC A 15-year-old and two adults were charged Tuesday with attempted murder following a pellet gun attack on an acquaintance on Friday, May 22.

Tyreek Jacobs, 17, Devin Berry, 18, and the juvenile “lured the victim into a wooded area” off the 1200 block of Fontaine Road, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said in a news release.

The 4 acquaintances are engaged in an ongoing dispute which turned violent Friday.

After the victim was shot with the pellet gun, the alleged assailants took him, unconscious, to an apartment, Lott said. He fled the apartment when he regained consciousness.

The victim has been hospitalized for treatment of the injuries sustained in the attack.

Berry and Tyreek are being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. The juvenile has been turned over the the Department of Juvenile Justice.
