Deputies are investigating a home invasion in the Irmo area, during which two masked men broke into a home while the owner was there.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. Monday at a home on the 1400 block of Beaver Dam Road, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department. That’s just off Harbison Boulevard near St. Andrews Road.

The victim told deputies that two masked men broke into the home and asked her about her safe, the sheriff’s department said Tuesday afternoon. The men took cash and jewelery from the home.

No injuries were reported. A K-9 unit responded, but the track ended not far from the home, the sheriff’s department said.

A description of the suspects was not available.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crimestoppers at 888-CRIME-SC. Callers will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
