Man performed sex act in view of students on school bus, West Columbia police say

A West Columbia man was charged after police said he pulled up next to a school bus and indecently exposed himself, according to a statement from the West Columbia Police Department.

Rodney Graham Davis, 52, is facing two counts of indecent exposure, according to the statement.

Wednesday, a girl told police she was on the school bus with her friends when she spotted Davis on North 12th Street, according to the statement. Davis allegedly pulled up his van next to the bus and began inappropriately touching himself.

The girl wrote down Davis’s license plate number and gave it to investigators, according to the statement. Police used that information to identify Davis.

Investigators initially charged Davis with a single count, but added one on for a “similar event that happened within the last year,” according to the statement.

It is unclear what school the students attended or what age group they were in.
