Two people are recovering at a hospital after being shot outside of a convenience store Sunday, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department reported to The State.

The injuries are not “life threatening,” according to a tweet from the sheriff’s department.

The shooting is believed to be an isolated incident between “people who had an argument,” the sheriff’s department told The State.

Just before 7:30 p.m. deputies responded to the convenience store located in the 3800 block of Highway 321, the sheriff’s department reported in the tweet. A Sunoco gas station and convenience store is located there, according to Google Maps.

An investigation is underway, which led the sheriff’s department to close a portion of the northbound lanes on Highway 321, according to a tweet.

“Troopers and deputies are directing traffic to detour scene. Please use caution,” the tweet read.

There is no word on the number of people involved in the incident beyond the two currently in the hospital.

No specific details on their condition has been given.
