SC man killed in Columbia car crash, coroner says

A South Carolina man died Monday after being involved in a crash on Hardscrabble Road in Columbia, according to a statement from the Richland County Coroner’s office.

Emiquieas Tomas Lopez, 38, of Newberry, was involved in a two car crash Sunday, dying at about 5 p.m. Monday, according to the statement.

After the crash, Lopez was taken by EMS to Prisma Health Richland Memorial Hospital, where he later died, according to the statement. He died from injuries to his head.

The case is being investigated by the S.C. Highway Patrol.
