A 26-year-old man was arrested after police say he stole calculators from an Irmo Walmart at knife-point, according to a statement from Irmo police.

Steven Wayne Harmon was charged with the armed robbery at the Dutch Fork Road store, according to the statement.

Police were called out to the Walmart on Tuesday after a person, believed to be Harmon, was spotted shoplifting 10 scientific calculators, according to the statement. When an employee approached Harmon, he pulled out a knife and ran away.

Officers identified the man as Harmon and got warrants for his arrest. Later, Irmo police found Harmon trying to sell the calculators on social media.

Undercover officers met with Harmon to buy the calculators, according to the statement. When Harmon showed up to the exchange, he was still carrying his knife.

Harmon was arrested at taken to Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
