A registered South Carolina sex offender is accused of sexually assaulting two young children, according to deputies.

Johnny Bruce Jamison, 63, was charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor and one count of failure to register as a sex offender, the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

The Holly Hill man had been sought since last year, when an Orangeburg County woman reported a sexual assault on two small children in March 2018, the sheriff’s office said. The woman said she was collecting two children from a home when she confronted a man exiting the children’s room.

One of the victims was 6 years old, according to a warrant. The age of the second child was not available.

Later, the children told the woman the man touched them inappropriately, deputies said. The woman said after an hours long search for the man, he was confronted an admitted he was wrong, according to the incident report.

Jamison was arrested over the weekend.

He is listed on the S.C. Sex Offender Registry for a 2001 conviction. The registry does not provide details about that conviction.
