Road rage incident ends in chase around sheriff’s department’s parking lot, Richland deputies say
Richland County deputies did not have to drive far Wednesday morning to investigate a case of road rage.
Two cars engaged in a heated road rage chase ended up driving circles around the sheriff’s department’s parking lot off of Two Knotch Road at about 8:50 a.m., according to a statement from deputies.
“The two vehicles recklessly circled the parking lot multiple times, striking each other at times, as puzzled deputies raced to address the incident,” the statement read.
When the incident began, both drivers called 911, according to the statement. Dispatchers recommended the drivers go to the sheriff’s department.
When they arrived, deputies talked to the pair and realized the chase was part of a “complicated domestic situation,” according to the statement.
The driver of one of the cars, Lisa Pearson, 45, was charged with domestic violence and assault and battery, according to the statement. Pearson was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
