Man charged with murder in stabbing of Lexington County 24-year-old, cops say
A murder suspect is behind bars after he was accused of stabbing a man to death at a Lexington County residence Sunday, the sheriff’s department said in a news release.
Jeremy Lynn Adams, 34, is accused of stabbing a 24-year-old multiple times in the upper body, according to the news release.
Adams is charged with murder and possessing a weapon during a violent crime, the sheriff’s department said.
Sheriff Jay Koon said the stabbing occurred at a home on Ringo Road, and the victim was taken to an area hospital where he died, according to the news release. The residence is near White Knoll High School.
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the victim as Donald Eugene Blankenship, the news release said.
Adams was arrested at the scene Sunday and is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center after his bond was denied Monday, the sheriff’s office said in the news release.
Koon said “evidence recovered by investigators at the scene is scheduled for further testing,” according to the news release.
