Driver charged in hit-and-run of teen bicyclist in Columbia crosswalk
Police have arrested a woman they say drove off after a collision with a teen bicyclist in a Columbia crosswalk this week.
Brittnei Farrow, 24, is charged with hit and run resulting in injuries, failure to give information and render aid, operating an uninsured vehicle and operating a vehicle without a license, the Columbia Police Department said in a release Wednesday afternoon.
The collision happened Monday morning on North Main Street.
Police said a vehicle was traveling south on North Main and had stopped at a red light, and that when the light turned green, both the driver and a 14-year-old bicyclist advanced and collided.
It appeared the teen accidentally rode into the driver’s side of the vehicle, police said. The teen was taken to a hospital for minor injuries.
