Driver charged with DUI after hitting parked car, flipping his vehicle in Five Points
COLUMBIA, SC A man has been charged with DUI after he hit an unoccupied parked car and flipped his vehicle in Five Points early Tuesday morning.
Edward Eric Huffman, 23, has been charged with driving under the influence, according to Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons.
Huffman was traveling North on Harden Street in Five Points when he took a sharp left turn onto Senate Street and wrecked his vehicle, Timmons said. As a result, Huffman hit an unoccupied parked car.
The accident happened near Cookout restaurant, Timmons said.
Huffman was treated at the hospital for minor injuries before being taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
