A suspect barricaded himself inside a hotel Monday night, according to the Columbia Police Department. After a five-plus hour standoff, police said Quinci Jenkins was arrested, WLTX reported.

The wanted man was inside the Baymont Inn & Suites, Lt. Michael B. Blair told The State. That’s near Garners Ferry Road in the Fort Jackson area.

When the situation was ongoing, Blair said police did not not know if the Jenkins was armed, but said the situation was “not a threat to public safety.”

Members of the U.S. Marshals attempted to serve a warrant on Jenkins, who was wanted in Florida for “attempted murder and weapons charges,” WIS reported.

When Jenkins was ultimately arrested, police said it was “without incident,” according to WACH.
